A Fan's Response

This is a fan who received the emails from Manny Klausner regarding upcoming 3MoTenors appearances. Here is her response to him and his response back. It is interesting to see that the response is purely propaganda in the truest form:

Please remove me from your e-mail list. I am a great fan of Cook, Dixon
and Young, and nothing will ever change that. If you all are that
great, there should be no need to try passing yourself off as someone
you are not. I did pass this on to Cook, Dixon and Young letting them
know what you all are up to.
Again, take my name off your mailing list, because I do not want to
hear from you!
Fan of Cook, Dixon and Young.

Here is Manny Klausner's response:

No problem, I'm sorry to have inconvenienced you.

I'm glad to hear that you are a fan of Cook, Dixon & Young.

But you are badly mistaken about "passing off." The concept, Three Mo'
Tenors, was originated by Marion Caffey, as an opportunity to showcase
the talent of yet-to-be discovered black tenors.

His vision is being realized by the tenors now performing in Three Mo'
Tenors.

As stated on Three Mo' Tenors' website:

THREE MO' TENORS showcases the extraordinary versatility of
African-American tenors. It starts with classical opera and goes on to
feature seven more musical styles that span four hundred years of music
- all in one entertaining evening.

THREE MO' TENORS is about more than just three men. It is a story about
the history and the future of exceptional Black tenors who deserve to be
heard.

Because of the intense vocal demands of the show, THREE MO' TENORS
features two equally outstanding casts taking the stage, three at a time
in alternating performances.

THREE MO' TENORS has already introduced eleven African-American tenors
to enthusiastic audiences - and as long as there are more undiscovered
Black tenors waiting in the wings, THREE MO' TENORS will be here to tell
their amazing story.

                        Manny Klausner

Law Offices of Manuel S. Klausner, P.C.
mklausner@klausnerinc.com

We are curious about the "yet-to-be discovered black tenors" - as Mr. Young was very well known in MANY artistic genres long before Mr. Caffey even knew him. And Mr. Young was approached by Mr. Caffey in the VERY first place. Perhaps this changed after Mr. Young brought his integrity and his reputation to this project and by doing so, validated it. Just something for thought...

Tenors Cook Dixon & Young ARE NOT Three Mo Tenors

There continues to be confusion in the marketplace and we have had many inquiries lately...Tenors Cook Dixon & Young are NOT Three Mo Tenors and do not use that name. Therefore, if you have heard about Three Mo Tenors coming into New York City and playing at an off-Broadway house, this is NOT COOK DIXON AND YOUNG!!!!!!!!!!! The original concert has NEVER been done by ANYONE ELSE and Cook Dixon & Young perform under their own names ~ TENORS COOK DIXON & YOUNG.

Do not be confused - we would hate for the fans of CD&Y to buy tickets for something that is not them. Feel free to pass this information on to others who might not know the difference.

COOK DIXON & YOUNG receive PROCLAMATION

Recently, the Mayor of Detroit Michigan honored tenors Cook Dixon & Young with a proclamation, and the City Council of Detroit issued a Resolution to the Tenors. The following in the acceptance speech written delivered by Thomas Young on behalf of Victor Trent Cook, Rodrick Dixon.

President Cockrel, Distinguished Members of the City Council, Ladies and Gentlemen:

I have been asked to respond to the extraordinary honor you have bestowed on us.

When I was in elementary school, I read a story about Abraham Lincoln in which there was a description of his responses to questions from reporters. He was asked how long it would take him to prepare a two minute speech. To which the President replied, "About two weeks". Subsequent to that question, the President was asked how long it would take him to prepare a one hour speech. The President replied, "About one week." Finally, the President was asked how long it would take him to prepare a two hour speech. The President responded by saying, "I am ready right now."

I was impressed with President Lincoln's respect for language and the care he exercised in the use of language.

You have honored us by presenting us with a document filled with the kind of language reserved for a very few. It is a singular honor which elevates us and at the same time, disturbs us, in the sense that it stirs us up. This document spurs us to service. This document tasks us to endeavor to be worthy of the honor you have bestowed on us. I am reminded of a Haitian prayer: "Lord disturb my peace, that I might bring peace to those who are disturbed."

Thank you again for this honor. Thank you for this moment of grace.

Thomas J. Young
